Review: If you pick this book up because it is by Erica Spindler and you are a fan, well make sure you read the blurb. This book was first published in the 80’s and very much not the style we have become accustomed to with Erica Spindler. 

This book is a romance book, I know a lot of people will shy away from the book on that basis, but give it a chance. I offered to review this book on the basis that I love all things Erica Spindler. I always have. This book though, while the story was good and I love romance books as well as mystery, this book was a bit of a throwback for me. It was easy to tell it was written very early.

 

I felt I could not connect with the characters and Veronique’s wild ways, made me want to kick her.

Some romances stand the test of time. They are the first ones you ever read and you will go back to them so many times that the book will fall apart with the slightest touch. For me, this is not one of those romances. It is however a quick and easy read.

Review: Anyone who reads these posts knows I love romance novels. They also know I love all things supernatural. This book combines the two. Romance, heros, ghosts, villians, a loveable secondary character that makes you smile even though you may not want to and a couple of twists and turns.

All this adds up to a book that I couldn’t out down. At no point in the book did I find the plot line lacking or boring. It kept a nice steady pace throughout. Chasity Bowlin’s writing style is damn near perfection to me. This book kept me up way, way past my bedtime, only being FORCED to stop when I couldn’t keep my eyes open and read the same sentence, God only knows, how many times.

This book urged me to purchase the second book, “The Redemption of a Rogue”, and the third book, “The Enticement of an Earl”, almost immediately. Reviews on those to come shortly.

If you love sweet historical romances with a supernatural twist, then please, please go get this book. And you can’t really say no because this book is currently FREE!!!!!

They’re all in danger. While trying to save one another in a cat and mouse game of deceit and lies, intrigue and murder, they each may end up losing what matters the most. It’s a dangerous game and not everyone can be the winner.

Review: I never read the preface/awknowledgments before I started blogging. It was just part of the book that I skipped. Since starting blogging, I have realised how much you can miss by skipping these parts. I promise, I have a point. When I read the preface to Roberts ‘Scars of the heart’, I couldn’t wait to get to the book itself. It spoke to me. I love sweet romances without all the smut. (Not meaning that I don’t love the smut to!) But the sweet, clean romances draw me back to my innocence I guess. So I fell in love with this book as I read the preface.

It was, unfortunetly a short lived love. Now don’t get me wrong, the bones of the story are good, great even, just everything feels a litte rushed.

For me it jumps from character to character without warning. I found myself frowning and flipping back the pages quite a lot. I kept waiting for something in the book to pull me in and make me stay up half the night to finish the book, and it never came.

In the preface, Roberts says her 12 year old daughter could read this book. And yes, this is very suitable for young adults, 100%, but I also think it would suit the more young, in young adult.

Review: I have been lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC of this book. I have been a huge fan of Erica Spindler for years and read most of her books.

This book is the first in a new series. And Erica Spindler has broken the mold on this one.

Be prepared for a change if and when you pick up The Final Seven. It won’t be what you expect.

Erica Spindler has journeyed into a new world with this book and as far a I am concerned she made it out without a scratch. Gone is your straight forward murder, we now have murder with the supernatural. Erica Spindler came to the dark side! Whoohoo!

Seriously though, when I picked up this book I did not expect a new direction. And I will admit before I really got into the book, I was worried. I mean Erica Spindler is a master of murder. Going down a different road was nerve wracking for me as a reader, I can only imagine that Erica Spindler is nervous about it too.

The characters, while it took them a while to mesh for me, I think are going to be a great team. Both Micki and Zach have a hell of a lot to learn, about each other, from each other and about themselves. Their road, well that is not going to be easy.

I am really looking forward to more of their adventures and I dread to think how long I will actually have to wait but I have no doubt it will be worth it.

Once I got over the shock of a new direction, I got into the book and kept barking at Himself every time he tried to talk to me. (I need a sign cos he ain’t learning) This book is one of my top books this year and I strongly recommend it to all Erica Spindler fans, as well of fans of suprnatural. Trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Rating: An easy and unbiased 5 stars.

Review: I felt for poor Abby. What had her running to the Curvy Bear Ranch was shocking. I completely understood her the entire book. It can be hard to let go, no matter how much someone tells you to.

Cody came across a little impatient. He wants to have his cake and eat it. Gives advice and does the opposite. At least, that was how it came across to me.

Still in all another great installment by Liv Brywood. Thank you!

Review: This one starts with a bit of a shock. Poor Carol. I felt so sorry for her.

Hank is hotter than I gave him credit for. I kind of had him on a back burner and I wasn’t hugely excited about his book. I changed my mind pronto let me tell ya.

Liv Brywood, once again hit it out of the park. I adore bear shifters!

Review: This book came sooner than I expected. I actually thought with the way Logan was he would be the last holdout. Obviously I was wrong.

Kate is a strong woman. I find it tough to say to much without giving something away. And that is the last thing I want to do. These books are a must read and just because they have Christmas in the title doesn’t mean that they are a must read all year round.

Review: Well now, this book starts off with a bang. Or more aptly Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma’am. And that is it for the spoilers. This series is proving to be a hell of a panty dropper. It is as hot as hell to be honest I am not sure how Liv Brywood gets any actual work done. I don’t know if I would be able to focus with these, hot ass cowbears running around in my head!

Mack for me is the hottest of the brothers, and I love the way he tries and fails to keep away from Madison.

I really enjoyed this book and read it in one evening. Plus the third, a review of which is up next. Thank you Liv Brywood, for bringing these guys into my life!
